Interstruct Opens new office in Charlotte, NC

January 15, 2025: Interstruct, Inc. CEO Ryan Young, AIA, announced the opening of Interstruct Design + Build’s new office in Charlotte, North Carolina. Charlotte is the architect-led commercial construction company’s fourth office, expanding its reach further into the southeast.

Said Young, “For several years, my business partner, Rich Monroe, and I have considered expanding Interstruct Design + Build to new markets. Identifying cities with similar demographics as Orlando and Tampa is easy. Finding the right person to lead new business is incredibly challenging.”

Effective January 15, 2025, Branson Bowen is the principal of Interstruct’s new office in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Bowen brings a decade of experience in commercial real estate and construction. He’s also passionate about giving back to the communities in which he lives and does business. Since 2019, his grassroots Contractors, Closers & Connections has raised and donated $130,000 to Orlando-area non-profits. Orlando Business Journal named Bowen in its 2024 “40 Under 40” list, recognizing Central Florida’s young leaders.

Bowen and his wife, Shelby, recently moved to Charlotte to build a life closer to family. Now, he is leading the charge to bring Interstruct’s experience as a general contractor and unique design+build approach to adaptive reuse, healthcare and hospitality projects in North Carolina’s largest city.

Why Charlotte?

DEMOGRAPHICS: Charlotte shares many commonalities with Orlando and Tampa. For instance, from demographics and disposable income to patterns of growth that ping outward from a downtown core to developing edge districts such as Charlotte’s Camp North End.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Charlotte’s plans for light rail transit are on the front burner with a promise for expansion and development that will connect people and business to building stock that’s ripe for development.

INFILL AND ADAPTIVE REUSE: Charlotte’s abundance of building stock is well matched to Interstruct’s experience, company structure, and business approach. Interstruct is well suited to advise and shepherd clients through all stages of adaptive reuse and infill development projects including creative office and retail to hospitality, healthcare and other entrepreneurial pursuits.

FINANCIAL CENTER: The strong banking industry is also attractive to us. Outside of NYC, Charlotte is the largest financial center in the United States, attracting a large corporate presence of Fortune 500 and 1000 companies such as Lowe’s, Bank of America, and Truist that are headquartered in the Queen City.

HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS: Charlotte’s two major healthcare systems—Atrium Health Medical Group and Novant Health Medical Group—provide ample opportunity for our design+build medical office building (MOB) and healthcare construction expertise.

LEADERSHIP: Young said, “Engaging an office principal like Branson Bowen, who has already proven himself and his ability to grow market share, makes this a home-run opportunity for Interstruct.”
