Central Florida Retina is a 2,000 SF first-generation medical office that opened in January 2024 at 1100 Wellness Way in Oviedo. The building is owned by Dr. Rodrigo De Marco, DDS, who owns and operates Oviedo Point Dental that occupies the primary corner suite. 

Central Florida Retina’s office features three work-up rooms, a dilation room, three exam rooms, a spacious reception and waiting area with a bottle filler/water fountain, a break room and nurses’ station that includes refrigeration and undercabinet lighting. Custom millwork is installed throughout, from the reception desk and all the way back into the nurses’ station. 

Our major challenge was a compressed timeline beginning in October 2023 that overlapped with the holidays and culminated with the client planning their grand opening the first week of January 2024. This meant our entire construction schedule overlapped with the slow-down that is typical throughout the holiday season. However, due to excellent communication and ongoing collaboration between Central Florida Retina, Interstruct, and Dr. De Marco’s busy dental practice, we completed the project with time to spare. 

This is an example of the growing trend of white-coat investors such as Dr. De Marco who invest their clinical earnings in medical office real estate. In this case, Dr. De Marco built his own office and left two remaining inline suites as grey shell until they could be leased to other medical practices, such as Central Florida Retina.
