A Milestone Year for Interstruct

As Interstruct celebrates its 25th anniversary, industry recognition reflects a vision that continues to gain momentum

The spring 2026 awards season provided an opportunity to reflect on the projects, partnerships, and community investments that have shaped Interstruct Design + Build over the past quarter-century.

Across two major industry award programs, Interstruct projects were recognized for innovation, adaptive reuse, hospitality, and urban revitalization. Founder and CEO Ryan Young was also honored as the Downtown Orlando Partnership’s 2026 Downtowner of the Year, recognizing his leadership and commitment to strengthening Orlando’s urban core.

While each award represents a distinct achievement, together they tell the story of a company that has spent the last 25 years building places that create lasting value for clients and communities alike.

Golden Brick Awards Celebrate Community Impact

Presented annually by the Downtown Orlando Partnership, the Golden Brick Awards recognize the individuals, projects, and organizations shaping the future of Downtown Orlando. At the 2026 ceremony, held at Steinmetz Hall inside the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Ryan Young was named Downtowner of the Year, an honor recognizing his contributions to urban redevelopment, adaptive reuse, and community investment throughout Downtown Orlando.

2025 Game Changer

The evening also highlighted several Interstruct projects and clients. Travel + Leisure Co. received the Game Changer Award for its transformation of the former Citrus Center into a vibrant downtown headquarters. Interstruct served as architect and general contractor for the adaptive reuse project, helping reposition an underutilized office tower into a modern workplace that has brought hundreds of employees back into the urban core.

Finalist: Dining + Hospitality

Meanwhile, Walter’s Tavern at Southern Box Food Hall was recognized as a finalist in the hospitality category. Interstruct provided architecture and construction services for the project, which transformed a historic citrus warehouse into one of Orlando’s most distinctive food-and-beverage destinations.

Hallmark Awards Recognize Innovation + Deal of the Year

Just weeks later, the Central Florida Commercial Association of REALTORS® (CFCAR) honored Interstruct projects at its 2026 Hallmark Awards.

Interstruct’s ongoing Parramore Redevelopment received the Innovation Award, recognizing six years of strategic investment along the West Church Corridor. What began as a collection of underutilized industrial buildings has evolved into a mixed-use hub that today serves as Interstruct’s headquarters, and is home to creative businesses, community organizations, public art initiatives, and industry gatherings.

The Hallmark Awards also recognized the significance of the Travel + Leisure Co. headquarters project, which received Deal of the Year, further highlighting the project’s role in strengthening Downtown Orlando through adaptive reuse and reinvestment.

25 Years of Building Community

For Interstruct, these honors are more than individual awards. They represent the continued evolution of a philosophy that has guided the company since its founding in 2001.

Whether transforming vacant buildings, reimagining existing infrastructure, supporting local businesses, or investing in emerging neighborhoods, Interstruct’s work is rooted in the belief that great places are created through thoughtful architecture, strategic construction, and long-term stewardship.

As the company celebrates its 25th anniversary, the recognition received this spring serves as affirmation that the vision continues to gain momentum—and that the most meaningful projects are those that create lasting impact.

Interstruct CONNECT is Interstruct’s after-hours industry networking event, aligned to Third Thursday Orlando and our Parramore Arts programming at ArtCube and, more recently, the addition of pop-up galleries in U-Haul trucks.
